Quaker Diamonds is DONE!

Actually, I finished it last week right before we left on a fun little road trip to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary! I planned to post this while we were away, but I just never got around to it.  Anyway, I finished re-stitching the letters fairly quickly and pulled out Shores of Hawk Run Hollow to work on the last three blocks, but didn't get much done there either. LOL

Then I realized that July is almost over and I haven't started thinking about my Christmas stitching yet! So, the Christmas Panic has officially begun. I'll try not to whine about it too much, but I really have to get busy.

But I have another project to take care of first. I have to beef up my inventory of needlework bling.  My friend Elaine from FigtreeBoutique on Etsy has convinced me to give a local craft fair a shot. She has quite a bit of experience doing them and is sure that there are lots of knitter, stitchers, and crocheters attending craft shows. So we'll be hawking our wares the Saturday of Labor Day weekend at the Oak Island Craft Fair. If you're in the area, stop by and say "hi".

What was I thinking?

I've taken about a dozen pictures of my finished ornies and this is the ONLY one that came out (and it's not my best effort). I hope this is not a sign of things to come today. (See list item #6) I'll try to get some more later, but since I worked at Angelwing the last two days I have a zillion things to do today. (See list below with little change from original posting of said list.) I'm beginning to not like my list. I feel a Linda Blair Exorcist moment coming on.

And have I mentioned how much I love stitching, but hate finishing?

Christmas Panic To-do list

1. shopping - 100% DONE
2. stitching - pieces chosen and taken off the wall for sisters laying on wrapping table, one STILL to frame for Mom
3. knitting - one cowl DONE(and very pretty, I must say), 2 necklaces left assemble
4. finishing - 9 ornies finished and still too many to count and one hardanger Christmas tree (haven't even thought about it yet)
5. decorating - STILL naked tree standing in living room
6. baking - not started - next task, as soon as I post this
7. wrapping - STILL not started
8. selling - still shipping orders (yeah!) and still adding new things to Etsy because there is still time to ship for Christmas. But you better hurry!

Busy as a little bee

Sorry about the lack of postings lately, but as you can probably guess, I'm up to my eyeballs in the Christmas Panic to-do list.

1. shopping - 95% done
2. stitching - taking things off the wall for sisters, one to frame for Mom
3. knitting - one cowl left to do, 2 necklaces left assemble
4. finishing - too many ornies to count and one hardanger Christmas tree (thank God for the friend who found the candlestick and painted it for me.)
5. decorating - naked tree standing in living room
6. baking - not started
7. wrapping - not started
8. selling - still shipping orders (yeah!) and still adding new things to Etsy

Oh, and let me not forget the December birthday present still being stitched. At least, I'm enjoying that!

I Need to Stitch!

I knew when we left for SC on Friday that I probably wouldn't get much stitching done this weekend and I was right. I managed to stitch in the car until we got to I-20, but that stretch of interstate needs repaving so badly it's like driving on a gravel road! So getting a needle in the correct hole is impossible. Then, once we arrived at Mom's house nothing got done.

K.'s birthday dinner was fun and we had a couple of good laughs about her AARP eligibility and then I went into a virtual coma. I thought about stitcing on the way home, but I was too tired to risk misreading the chart.

I did manage to stitch a little last night while catching up on a little TV, but not enough to build up my "happy mood quotient" or HMQ. And today I have to get some groceries or we'll be eating peanut butter crackers for dinner. Plus, I really must spend some time and effort on the Etsy shop. A low HMQ can be improved with sales, but not as much as with extra stitching time. But one must promote one's product to sell said product, so I need to get to work.
